Quotes to live by...
Writing is one of the hardest things for me, yet somehow the most joyful and rewarding. It can be extremely hard for me to start writing sometimes, but once I start everything in the world seems to come out allright.
So here are my quotes to live by, from some of my most admired writers. Enjoy!
One must be something, in order to do something. -Goethe
Try not to become a man of success, but rather a man of value. -Albert Einstein
Courage charms us, because it indicates that a man loves an idea better then all things in the world, that he is thinking neither of his bed, nor of his dinner, nor his money, but will venture all to put in act the invisible thought of his mind. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar. -Helen Keller
The work will teach you how to do it. -Estonian Proverb
(I write this one because of the loss of apprenticeship and the overemphasize on a college education. Perhaps Ill write more on this later.)
A great manager has a knack for making ballplayers think they are better then they think they are. He forces you to have a good opinion of yourself. He lets you know he believes in you. He makes you get more out of yourself. And once you learn how good you really are, you never settle for playing anything less then your very best. -Reggie Jackson
(Sports, games, and play all have important lessons to teach us. Let us not underemphasize them. More later...)
Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something. - Thomas Alva Edison
(One of my favorites)
Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity. - Gen. George S. Patton
